I am getting same kind of problem with time zone.my problem is like: I would like to convert getdate() in sql server to est time. That datetime value may be in any timezone like 'eastern standard time' or 'india standard time'.

In my app i have to show gst time in and has to pass the utc (of dubai time) to server. The clients who access the application are from from various time zones, like ist, cst, est,. I want to convert this cst time into other time zones as per locations to where calls were dialed.
Let me know if anyone knows the solution.
3 i need to store the datetime in cst timezone regardless of any timezone given. Note, i am not looking to do this. I need to write a file name which includes the current time in cst. So how do i calculate.
The start time field in the report for the dialed calls reflects in cst zone. I'm doing a few sql select queries and would like to convert my utc datetime column into local time to be displayed as local time in my query results. I want to convert that datetime value to utc timezone in. I have a datetime value.
Not able to find solution please.
